Description:
The Electric car work shop will be held on Tuesday November 10th in room 102 of the Keller Engineering Labs Building on the pew campus of Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids. The Workshop will start with lunch at 11:30AM in the Vehicle Design Bay adjacent to room 102 and then proceed with the program around 12:15PM. The Workshop will be concluded before 3:00PM.
This year's This year’s technical topic is “Designing front wheel geometry and suspension to minimize drag on the pavement when steering and during suspension motion”. Our presenter for this Workshop is Dr. Richard Hathaway, Professor of Mechanical Engineering, Western Michigan University. Dr. Hathaway is an expert on vehicle dynamics and design and has been involved with race car design and set-up for over thirty years. He has co-authored a number of text books on this and related automotive topics and has presented seminars/workshops on race car design.
In addition to the technical topic, a discussion is planned covering batteries and race rules. |
