U.S. and comparative politics research on how protests matter for democratic change focuses quite a bit on the nature of the protests, the coalitions of people organizing the protests, and the broader perceptions of those protests and their demands. Dr. Tafel will highlight the most relevant insights as they apply to the contemporary U.S. context.
